Brendan Rigby
Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Managing Director

Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) (Honours)
Brendan Rigby, Founder and Managing Director at Inspire Fitness for Wellbeing, is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Corrective Exercise Practitioner, whose passion for health and wellbeing for his clients is unsurpassed. Drawing from his post-graduate education in exercise science and more than 20 years experience as a practitioner, Brendan uses advanced methods from exercise science and rehabilitation to tailor individualized plans and improve the health and wellbeing of his clients.
As the founder of Inspire Fitness for Wellbeing (based in Balwyn, Melbourne), Brendan uses a post-holistic approach to exercise prescription and injury rehabilitation. His unique post-holistic approach to exercise and lifestyle modification addresses all aspects of a client's health, with all aspects of health regarded as being equally important and critical in achieving optimal wellbeing. Brendan has built the Exercise Physiology service at Inspire Fitness for Wellbeing upon these values, which has led to Inspire Fitness becoming a multi award-winning Exercise Physiology clinic.
Brendan specializes in advanced exercise prescription using postural correction, injury rehabilitation, pelvic and lumbar stability programs, weight loss programs, and strength training. Using these techniques, Brendan applies his knowledge to designing tailored exercise programs for working with clients with rehabilitation needs, or with clients with chronic diseases who require more specialised care and expertise. Combining this expertise with a friendly and supportive nature has seen Brendan achieve unsurpassed results with more than 1000 clients over his 20+ years working as an Exercise Physiologist.
Prior to setting up Inspire Fitness for Wellbeing over 10 years ago, Brendan worked in a number of settings applying his skills as an Exercise Physiologist and gaining valuable experience. In his role at Tennis Australia working with elite junior tennis players, Brendan was responsible for both the conditioning and the rehabilitation of athletes. This role entailed the screening and musculoskeletal assessment of each player’s postural faults and movement pattern breakdowns. The correction and rehabilitation of these individual dysfunctions within each athlete formed the basis of his exercise programming and planning. Brendan also worked in musculoskeletal rehabilitation alongside former AIS physiotherapist Jim Chim. Within this rehabilitation clinic, Brendan designed rehabilitation programs based on postural and movement screening, which has formed the basis to Brendan’s post-holistic approach to health and fitness.
Over the past 10 years, Brendan has worked with clients with chronic medical pathologies, where exercise and health interventions can eliminate or improve the prognosis. Having worked with medical conditions ranging from Type 2 diabetes, Scleroderma, Osteoarthritis, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Obesity, Coronary Artery Disease, and more, Brendan combines his expertise from addressing musculoskeletal dysfunction with appropriate exercise interventions to address the clients that present with medical conditions, so that his clients achieve positive health changes and healthy improvements to their quality of life.
